Henrie Adams was born in Thorn (The
Netherlands) and studied the oboe and
conducting at the Maastricht Conservatory
of Music. His teachers were Anton Kersjes,
Lukas Vis and Pierre Kuijpers. He attended
masterclasses in orchestral conducting
with Pierre Dervaux and Enrique Garcia
Asensio. He was principal conductor of the
chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta” of
Maastricht, of the symphonic bands
“Union” of Heythuysen and “Eendracht” of
Meyel, and also of the Youth Orchestra of
the Valencian Community (1992-1999). He
was invited as guest conductor by the
Limburg Symphony Orchestra, the Bilbao
Symphonic Orchestra, the extremadura
Symponic orchestra, the Valencia
Symphony Orchestra, the Madrid Municipal
Band etc. From 1989 until 2019 he was the principal
conductor of both the symphonic band and
the orchestra of the Sociedad Musical “la
Artistica” Bunol. In July 2001 he obtained
with this band the title of “World Champion”
at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade
(The Netherlands) with the highest score in
the Concert Division. He made more than 30
recordings on cd with this orchestra for the label “World
Wind Music”. Since november 2008, Henrie
Adams is principal conductor of the
Orquesta Sinfonica of Castellon.
